Responding to Biden’s announcement that he would invoke his executive power and divert and direct the country’s manufacturing resources: microchips, steel, copper, plastic, etc., to producers of global warming gizmos like solar panels. Leaving aside the question of his authority to declare an “emergency” where none exists, and whether this opens the way to the communists’ demand for “stakeholder” production, our own Ib1netmon (I have no idea what that non de plume references, but never mind) makes this sage observation:

Command economies are always more efficient than a random hodge-podge of private entrepreneurship.

Also, lots of opportunities for graft.

No steel for oil drillers or the producers of ICE vehicles, and no chips for computer manufacturers, except as approved by the proper authorities in Washington: what could go wrong?
