Wow. There's dumb, incredibly dumb, and then there's vile, despicable idiocy. This restaurant went even beyond those to an entirely new category

Anne Frank: “It’s hotter than an oven out there … and I should know!” Hahahaha!

“I thought it was funny”. Restaurant owner “apologizes” for his Facebook Post.

But not to worry, “It has provided a ‘teachable moment’ for our staff”

A Rhode Island restaurant came under fire after an employee posted a meme to the company Facebook page comparing the summertime heat wave to the ovens in Nazi concentration camps.

The meme featured a portrait of Holocaust victim Anne Frank with the disgusting caption, 'It’s hotter than an oven out there… And I should know!'

Restaurant officials also claimed the establishment 'prides itself on being a tolerant, inclusive and safe space for all people' and that the incident serves as a 'teachable moment for our team.'

The owner went on to claim that “I didn’t recognize her” but of course, the post made no sense unless its author and his intended readers did know who Anne Frank was, and how she died; otherwise they wouldn’t “get the joke”.

May he be dropped into his deep-fat fryer.
