Not every house purchased at the height of the last boom has recovered from the subsequent bust

269 Round Hill Road (S. Baldwin Farms, actually, with a bit of rejiggering to get the fancier address) was purchased in 2007 for $6.632 million, and was re-sold today for $5,339,500.

The people who bought it new in 2005 for $6.250 managed to sell it in 2006 for $7.950 (?) before giving up and “giving it away” in 2007 for the aforementioned $6.632. That probably seemed like a bargain at the time.

Today’s buyers show Westport address, but I wonder whether they aren’t NYC Covid refugees who rented up the coast before coming to their senses and moving in closer.
