Apparently, the mourning-after polls didn’t come in as they’d hoped.
But don’t blame CNN. As its producers looked at the dire visuals of Biden’s eerie, dystopian staging, they grew worried about its effect on ordinary Americans who might find it offensive and alarming, so they manipulated the live video to show a calmer, magenta-hued backdrop, instead of the actual blood-red one. It’s a sign of good training when a dog anticipates its master’s command and executes it even before it’s been issued.
Of course, not everyone saw CNN’s broadcast — did anyone? — and some used the original version for their own tweets, instead.
