From the ashes of foreclosure, another black-window -farmhouse rises

20 Mackenzie Drive, new construction, has hit the market at $6.499 million. This rather unappealing lot was a perennial fixture on the market since 2005, when the owner first tried to bail out ahead of the looming bankers by pricing it at $2.495 million. The trouble was, and clients I showed it to agreed, that the land was worth far less than that. Notwithstanding the market’s opinion, however, the stubborn fool raised its price to $2.695 in 2007, and there it sat. The foreclosure process in Connecticut being what it is, the litigation dragged on for years, until it was finally sold by the lender to these builders in January ‘22 for $1,417,500.

We’ll see what happens now.
