Interesting if true, and it probably is.

Greenwich Free Press reports the sale of 1030 Lake Avenue to Cinn Global Initiatives, Inc on February 16th for $5,200,750. The property never showed up on the MLS, and the town tax card just shows a sale for that date in the amount of $1 — a common thing to do to preserve privacy. But it’s a simple matter to note the conveyance tax paid and calculate the actual selling price, which is what may have been done here.

What caught my eye is the price history of this home: these sellers paid $9.2 million for it in 2011, and then tried reselling it for as much as $12 million in 2015 before giving up and unloading it last month for $5.275 to Cinn Global.

But dashed hopes aren’t unknown to this house: its builder asked for $10.5 for it in 2002 and eventually had to settle for $6 million in ‘03. Life’s full of disappointments in Greenwich’s north country.
