/When 48 Clapboard Ridge Road sold in January 2022 for a mere $8.6 million, its listing described it as an “exquisite new (7-years-old, but perhaps they were using the Einstein theory) custom home”. It’s back again today, asking $9.295 and unchanged except that it is now “an extraordinary bespoke stone manor”. The substitution of “extraordinary” for “exquisite” probably makes no difference, but “bespoke” in place of “custom” is sure to sway the socially conscious buyer.
