Sale at 40 Doubling Road

40 Doubling, $3.250 on (an original) price of $4.2. There’s no link because the pictures are already down, but I’m including a few from the MLS to give a taste of the house. Basically, a 1968 home that appears to be in good condition, but the late owner died at 92 (in Vero Beach, like all proper Greenwichites), and the decorating scheme reflects the tastes of a person of her era. There’s no question that this house, at this location, could have commanded a higher price had it not needed a complete do-over, but that would have been a silly thing to do: it’s an estate sale, so the objective is to close the estate, not spend a year choosing from color wheels.
