Unless the buyer was feeling exceptionally generous, this selling price indicates that there were at least two bidders

3 Old Mill Lane, asking $6.750 million, closed yesterday at $6.760. I last wrote about this property last month, when it was reported pending after just 14 days on the market, but I’ve followed its slow progress over the years. The owners paid $6.110 for it when it was new in 2010, put some real money into it, and first tried reselling it in 2015-2016, beginning at $8.995 and ending at $7.995. They’ve put it on the market several times since, at ever-over prices, but always rented it out when no buyers appeared. Its 2019 price of $5.995 represented a real bargain, if that term can be applied to this price range, but the failure to sell then was a buyer’s loss, and now, the seller’s gain.

The buyer, just as a by-the-way, is from Chappaqua.

It’s a very nice house, designed by Kaalli-Nagy. I couldn’t readily lay my hands on a site still showing current pictures, but here’s a 5-year-old video from a previous listing that gives the flavor of the place.
