Not content with the current abortion limit of six months, Maine Democrats push for more

no boundries

Both houses and the governorship are firmly in Democrat control, so look for no-limit abortions to become law this spring.

Current state law bans abortions after a fetus becomes viable outside the womb, at roughly 24 weeks. The governor’s bill would allow later abortions with a doctor’s approval. [If there are doctors willing to perform castrations and mastectomies on children, surely gaining a physician's “approval” to abort a nine-month fetus shouldn’t pose much of a challenge.]

And don’t forget abortion tourism: the Vacation Land economy depends on visitors, so anything that can increase their numbers can only be good, right? The ruling party thinks so.

Other bills would prevent municipalities from restricting abortions, strengthen protections for those who treat out-of-staters traveling to Maine for an abortion and address affordability of abortions through private insurance.
