A couple of closing prices reported
/48 Clapboard Ridge Road (link is to the previous year’s listing, but it has pictures, while the current listing no longer does), which I wrote about here has sold for $8.8 million on an asking price of $9.295. The sellers paid $8.650 for it just a year ago March, and because a 1.7% gain doesn’t begin to cover the transaction costs of a sale, I presume that their plans changed after the purchase. I also presume that if they could afford to buy the house at the price they did, they can afford to take the hit.
546 Lake Avenue has sold for $3.888 million, asking price was $4.400. I previously speculated that this outdated style would attract a buyer interested in razing it, but the new owners show a zip of Snowmass, Colorado, so maybe they’re collectors of the exotic. That would be nice.
