Navy moves to embrace fatties and morons
/No more teachers, no more books, no more drill instructors’ dirty looks
The U.S. Navy is starting to enlist individuals who didn’t graduate from high school or get a GED, marking the second time in about a year that the service has opened the door to lower-performing recruits as it struggles to meet enlistment goals.
The decision follows a move in December 2022 to bring in a larger number of recruits who score very low on the Armed Services Qualification Test. Both are fairly rare steps that the other military services largely avoid or limit, even though they are all finding it increasingly difficult to attract the dwindling number of young people who can meet the military’s physical, mental and moral standards.
Under the new plan, Navy recruits without an education credential will be able to join as long as they score 50 or above on the qualification test, which is out of 99.
[Admiral] heeseman acknowledged that … recruits enlisted under the lower test score standards last year did wash out of boot camp at a ““slightly higher rate, 11.4%, than those who achieved higher scores before enlistment, 6.4%.
(Almost double isn’t a “slightly higher” failure rate, except for Admirals who scored just 51 on their qualification test, but back to the story) :
“We’ve already let in wimmin, homos, and transvestites, and that still wasn’t enough to fill our ranks”, Admiral Seteven Decatur told FWIW in a shocking display of prejudice, “so we’re going end fat shaming and discrimination against the differently abled IQ crowd*, and see if that works.”
*Consider outdated as of January 2023: ‘Differently Abled’: Why You Should Avoid the Term
Refer to a person’s specific disability. Where relevant, avoid referring to people with disabilities as a homogenous group—the range of disabilities varies wildly, and individuals with disabilities have very different experiences depending on their condition and other factors. In addition, avoid the phrase “the disabled” and be careful when using broad terms like “cognitive disability” or “learning disability” when it would be more specific and appropriate to mention their exact condition.
So, “chubby-wubbies”, “cretins”, and midgets”?
