* Judging from the comments, some readers don’t appreciate the irony of Reynold’s suggestion. The first Truth and Reconciliation Commission was formed in South Africa to examine and address the treatment of blacks during Apartheid, and, not to be outdone, Canada came up with its own commission to look at and beat its breast over the exploitation, lies and oppression committed against its Indians. Neither accomplished anything, of course, but it would be fun to put our own government and the best of our media experts in the hot seat.
