Jazzman Crockett’s been grabbing the majority of headlines recently, and she’s certainly a winner in my book, but I’d happily settle for any of these people heading the Democrat ticket in 2028. Of course, it’s far too early to predict who’s actually going to take the post three years from now, and these polls are essentially just measurements of name recognition, not genuine support, but it’s fun to dream of the Democrats’ self-destruction. For now, here’s more about Crockett:

Jasmine Crockett Is Becoming the Leader of the Democratic Party

According to a recent poll of Democrats, AOC is seen as the leader of the Democratic Party by the largest percentage of Democrats. 

Admittedly, that lead is small--the field is fragmented so badly that nobody has over 10%, according to a CNN poll. Barack Obama represents the current Democratic Party values, getting less than half the support that AOC has. 

But the person rocketing to the top of the list in recent weeks has been Jasmine Crockett, who apparently believes that she has an advantage over AOC in the race to the top of the heap: darker skin and the ability to adopt a more ridiculously ethnic accent than AOC's.

Crockett, who has been around two years, is already seen as much a leader of the Democrats as Barack Obama, who has been a political icon for more than two decades. That is impressive--as well as indicative of just how far gone the Democrats are. 

AOC has to step up her game. While she mouths all the economic and social Marxist nostrums that are common on the left, Crockett explicitly adopts a facade of being from the streets, as if that adds to her street cred. 

Crockett actually comes from a very privileged background, speaks unaccented standard English flawlessly, went to prestigious private schools, and became a lawyer. None of which qualifies her for leadership in the modern Democratic Party, even with its elite's focus on credentials. 

Stupidity, anger and passion are the tickets to the top, so Crockett mimics these qualities well, and adds in a strong dose of personal nastiness to give a bit of spice to her appeal. 

Crockett is everywhere on TV, and Republicans are wrong to believe she is stupid. Instead, she is cunning, knowing where the ideological center of the Democrat Party is, and she is determined to outflank her opponents vying for leadership of the activist wing of the Party. 

Bob Hoge, of RedState, comments on her latest display of character:

…. [O]n Monday, though, she crossed any bounds of decency and openly mocked Lone Star State Governor Greg Abbott’s disability. Speaking at the Human Rights Campaign Los Angeles Dinner, she lowered herself to a new level of deplorable when she called him “Governor Hot Wheels,” presumably because he is confined to a wheelchair.

The HRC bills itself as an outfit promoting the idea that an “LGBTQ+ family has the freedom to live their truth without fear.” Ironic then that their speaker is an intolerant zealot:

…. Crockett’s increasingly inflammatory rhetoric seems like an act to me. Although she uses plenty of slang in her speech, she went to good schools, came from a solid family, and earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Houston Law Center. There are videos of her talking quite a bit differently and without such a pronounced accent and the slang. 

Bill Maher is no more impressed by her shtick than Strom or Hoge:

Of course, there is precedent for Crockett’s act:
