27 Fado Lane, $915,000. Residents of other parts of the country would scoff, but this 1963 split-level is a pretty good deal here in Greenwich. Fado is a very small, dead-end road developed  50 + years ago, and its houses reflect that, but it's on the lower end of Cognewaugh, an easy jog to Valley, and to town, and the neighbors are real neighbors: block parties, mutual snow shoveling assistance, etc. Or they were back a few years ago: if that's changed, then I'll withdraw my approving comments but otherwise, these buyers just bought into an extended family of friends, and that's worth a lot.

Even enough to overcome a split-level construction.
