Sold on Birchwood

42 Birchwood Drive, which started at $4.250 million, in February 2017, has sold for $3.450.

The now-former owners paid $3.750 for it in 2009 and that probably seemed like a bargain, because its original 2007 ask had been $4.995, but there’s something Dr. Fellish about the Gate Field-Birchwood area that I can’t quite put my finger on. I personally like the neighborhood; it’s private, quiet, and it’s an easy trip to town down Lake Avenue, but it’s been my impression that houses linger there. That’s a general impression, mind you, gained with no historical review of sale histories, so take it for what it’s worth; just about nothing, or less.

Still, it has sold, and that always comes as a relief to owners who no longer want their house.
