Jimmy Cabrera and his out-of-town money boys have pulled their application to build a 192-unit apartment tower on Church Street.

The project, designed for “empty nesters, not families” would have included “pickleball courts and fire pits on the roof”, and at least one advocate for the application was dismayed to learn of its demise. Reached for comment in his mother’s basement, young Nick Abbott, a vocal proponent of 8-30g housing projects in town was more than just disappointed: “I’m heartbroken”, he wailed to FWIW, “devasted! My Mom put a pickleball court for me up here”, the newly minted lawyer explained from his backcountry residence, “but I have no friends, and no one to play with. This would have been ideal for me, and Mother was kind of hoping I’d take the opportunity and move out. She’s gonna be so sad.”
