A question for our RTM, GHS students, and the Hartford Loonies

All the way from Morocco, an observation:

Greenwich banned plastic bags in 2018, in part to indulge our misguided high school students and, not to be outdone, a statewide ban quickly followed.

Paper bags have a much larger carbon footprint due to their weight and the amount of energy consumed in their manufacture, a point conceded by the eco-nuts, so they turned to littering as the justification for the ban. Teaching civic pride would be more effective: even pre-ban, Greenwich streets were pretty much litter-free; other areas aren’t, and that’s due to human behavior, not the composition of the trash.
