Stanwich contract (updated)

New construction at 224 Stanwich Road, currently priced at $4.995 million, is under contract. It started off at $5.880 in late October, but the builder paid just $1.188 for the land and the house that sat on it in 2019, and even though, curiously, she totally renovated the existing house before razing it, I’m sure there was still plenty of room to make a decent profit here.

UPDATE: I just noticed the listing agent has reported as both a sale and a rental; maybe it’s both, maybe it’s one or the other, or maybe she just has fat thumbs, and clicked both boxes simultaneously. . Stay tuned.
