I just noticed that, sometime in the past week or so, the MLS sales report forms no longer ask for the Zip Code of buyers, so there’s no longer an easy way to see where our buyers are coming from. So far, I’ve been unable to find out the reason for this change (okay, Gideon hasn’t), but I wonder whether agents objected to this blog’s publishing those codes — certainly, this site was the only local real estate report that was noting out-of-town buyers, and maybe that disturbed someone. Or not; perhaps the MLS just determined that it was too costly to include it on the intake form — electronic ink’s expensive, you know.
