Hey, kids, why don’t we all talk Infrastructure?

It’s all good — stop bringing this up!

Psaki claims it’s ‘irresponsible’ to say Americans are stranded in Afghanistan.

“And shame on you for suggesting that’, Psaki scolded reporters. “We’ve done everything possible to evacuate these people — we’ve even sent them Jacquie Lawson cards inviting them to visit the airport — is it President Biden’s fault that they’re too lazy to open them and respond? Not even a goddamn RSVP, if you can believe it. My grandmother in Greenwich would be rolling in her grave if she heard that”.

Pressed by CNN’s hard-hitting reporter Jim Acosta, who pointed out that many of those “not-stranded” were hiding in hovels and cardboard boxes lacking electricity, telephones, and internet access and thus incapable of receiving the Lawson invitations, Psaki was dismissive. “Is that our fault? Look, we’ve left those towel heads literally billions of dollars worth of planes, helicopters, and rockets to defend themselves, but they’re too lazy and ignorant to use them; and they’re whining about lightbulbs? Jesus Christ.

“And how about the Americans?” she asked heatedly. “Can-do, get-the-job-done, red-blooded Americans? They managed to get to an airport to fly there, now they’re saying they want an armed escort to get back? Gimme’ a break.

“And besides, this was supposed to be Kampalla’s responsibility — where is that bitch?”

Doctors will now enforce social safety rules by refusing treatment for those who won't obey

no soup for them!

no soup for them!

No to accident victims who weren’t wearing a seat belt.

No to unvaccinated patients with COVID

UPDATE: The “reporters” misrepresented what happened here: the doctors did NOT go on strike and refuse to treat unvaccinated patients; they did assemble outside their hospital to urge people to get vaccinated to avoid hospitalization, and then returned to work.

No to shot-up gangbangers

No to od’d junkies

Winos

Cigarette smokers

Fatsos

Only one of those is true, today, but all are surely going to become true. While we’re at it, isn’t it time we denied food to those who won’t work? Now there’s a reform I could support.

Pending on Stillman Lane

New construction at 1 Stillman Lane, asking $4.975. This is one of four houses under construction on what was the late Nick Manero’s 6-acre property at 110 Glenville Road, which sold to this builder in 2017 for $4.8 million.

Houses on Stillman and its neighbor, Sherwood Farm Lane have not held their value since being erected in the 2002-2007 years, but this time will be different, no doubt.

Good: Rent moratorium case is back before the Supreme Court

leaving gllen garry

leaving gllen garry

Legal analysis and fact summary by Leslie McAdoo at Red State, here.

The saga of the illegal renewed eviction moratorium has returned to the Supreme Court.  On Friday, the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals refused to lift the stay that has enabled the moratorium to remain in place since May, when D.C. District Court Judge Friedrich found it unlawful.  The circuit court’s ruling entitles the landlords to again apply for relief in the Supreme Court and they did so the same day.  Jones Day, the law firm handling the case for the landlords, anticipated the circuit would rule against them and had already prepared the papers for the Supreme Court.

It is highly likely that the Supreme Court will lift the stay, which will put an immediate stop to the moratorium.  Even President Biden has acknowledged that the moratorium will likely ultimately be found unlawful by the courts, but he imposed it anyway as an exercise in political expediency — to appease the left wing of his party and buy additional time for renters. Chief Justice Roberts is giving no aid to that cynical ploy.  He put the matter on a very fast track, directing the government to file its response to the application by noon today, August 23rd.

From a $9.995 ask in 2007 to a $3 million sale today, but at least it's finally sold

Screen Shot 2021-08-23 at 1.33.29 PM.png

23 Cliffdale Road has closed for $3 million.A historic home — one of the Mead family was killed here by the British, back before our current president had smoothed ruffled feathers — and I know there were efforts underway to save it, but I don’t know whether they were successful. It was sold direct as a “private sale”, so no details, yet.

This was a gorgeous lot of 9 1/2 acres, high on a hill, with sweeping views to the southwest encompassing even, if I recall correctly, Long Island Sound and maybe the NYC skyline. I had a client who was deeply interested in the property back in 2007-2008, but aside from the price, he was ultimately deterred by the owner’s unfortunate decision to build a 9-car/guest cottage/indoor basketball court structure right smack in the middle of the meadow, right where a new home should logically be built. So my guy passed, and bought another house down the street; whether other potential buyers had the same objections or declined for other reasons I don’t know, but the property stayed on the market for a long time.

This seller paid $5 million for it in 2004, renovated the existing homestead, to some extent, built that unfortunately sited sports and auto arena, and put it back up for sale in 2007 for $9.995 million. Wrong price.

This will drive the final nail in the Federal health care establishment's credibility

FDA issues final approval for Pfizer’s vaccine, paving the way for mandatory vaccination programs. The military is not allowed legally to command its forces to submit to an “experimental” drug, and a number of court decisions have also supported the right of ordinary citizens to refuse injections of a substance that hasn’t been granted final approval by the FDA. Today’s announcement is designed to eliminate that obstacle.

That 40+% of the population who distrust these vaccines and consider them to be part of some government scheme to kill black people and MAGAs aren’t going to be reassured by this action. Instead, I think they’ll see it as just another political ploy, based on expediency and the drive for coercion, rather than “science”.

I’m okay with the vaccine — I’ve done the Moderna double-dose myself, and haven’t died yet — but I totally understand the skepticism and suspicions of some people out there, especially after being lied to and deceived by our rulers since January, 2020.

UPDATE: I’m not the only one to notice the implications of this move. Politico: FDA approves Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, making way for more vaccine mandates. And note this:

Within hours of the announcement Monday, the Pentagon said it would accelerate plans to mandate vaccination for active-duty troops, and New York City said it would require vaccination for all teachers ahead of the new school year. Several companies and universities have announced plans for mandates that would be triggered by FDA's full approval of Covid shots.

They're not hypocrites, it's just that NYC has a better class of people, and COVID recognizes and honors that

As does CNN. August 8, 2021: South Dakota's Sturgis Motorcycle Rally: A 'cautionary tale' in the age of Covid-19”

August 21, 2021: CNN sponsors “We Love New York” mass gathering in Central Park

God showed his displeasure at the latter event, sending down a flood to drown the sinners and flush them from the grounds (though I understand he spared the carriage horses), but I’ve seen no regret expressed by CNN that it encouraged such reckless behavior in the first place.

I personally met and chatted up quite a few Sturgis-bound motorcyclists as I made my through South Dakota and parts west, and found them far more friendly and likable than anyone I’m likely to meet in NYC. Perhaps God agrees.
