We're in for quite ride; while it lasts

Elizabeth Warren: Yes, Kamala Will Grant Citizenship to All Illegals

Elizabeth Warren confirmed this morning that Kamala Harris will work with Congress to grant citizenship to the tens of millions of illegals inside our country.

Here’s what she said:

“I believe we need to create a pathway to citizenship. All of that is a part of what we need to do for comprehensive immigration reform. Kamala Harris will work with Congress and get that done.”

I know this isn’t a shock to you or me – we know this about her. But the media is trying to whitewash her record as a radical leftist and I’m glad Warren, who served with her in the Senate and knows her very well, said this for all to here.

Kamala will reward illegals with citizenship, which means more and more will continue to come. And she will let them all in.

Unrelated, but related:

William Barr: The growing threat behind Biden's Supreme Court proposal

Americans need to understand that the campaign to radically change the Court is coming.  While current proposals like term limits for the longest-serving justices and an imposed code of ethics threaten the Constitution and the separation of powers, the far left is demanding that Court be packed with additional liberal justices.  Whoever the Democrat nominee for President is, if they win, that is exactly what will happen, and it only takes a majority vote and the signature of the President.

In fact, presumptive nominee VP Kamala Harris, who received Biden’s wholehearted endorsement, has already expressed support, stating she was "absolutely open" to court packing.

Transforming the Supreme Court into another partisan body would destroy the independence of the judiciary and threaten the civil liberties of all Americans.  Concerning such an idea, then-Senator Biden once said that changing the structure of the Court was "a bonehead idea" that would "put in question … the independence of the … Supreme Court."  He was right.  The last thing we need in this country right now is a Supreme Court coup that would threaten our democratic republic.

How's that "Green" money being spent?

“Building a clean energy economy can and should be a win-win for union autoworkers and automakers. This investment [sic] will create thousands of good-paying, union manufacturing jobs and retain even more — from Lansing, Michigan to Fort Valley, Georgia — by helping auto companies retool, reboot and rehire in the same factories and communities.''

Just as in any other planned economy, it’s going to those in favor the regime, without regard to ability or merit. Example:

Biden's comment that outraged Elon Musk, turning the world's richest man against Democrats and electrifying his support for Trump

Joe Biden outraged Elon Musk when he said a rival EV executive had 'electrified the entire automobile industry' in America.

When he said that about General Motors CEO Mary Barra in 2021, he gave the cold shoulder to Musk, the Tesla billionaire who most credit with the popularity of electric vehicles in the United States.

Whether he knew it or not, Biden planted a seed that day that has led Musk - a 2020 Biden voter who claimed to have never cast a ballot for Republicans - toward an alliance with Donald Trump.

Biden and Barra were attending multiple events celebrating Biden's infrastructure law and an executive order outlining a goal to have electric and other zero-emissions vehicles make up half of the new cars and trucks sold by 2030.

Musk was not invited and had to watch Barra - whose General Motors had produced just 26 EVs compared to Tesla's 115,000 in the fourth quarter of 2021 - be hailed by Biden as having 'electrified the entire automobile industry' while adding that Detroit - and not Austin, the home of Tesla - was 'leading the world in electric vehicles'.

A new Wall Street Journal story suggests it didn't have to be this way, as Musk made multiple overtures toward Biden after he defeated Trump in 2020.

However, Biden wanted to burnish his credentials as a pro-union president and faced pressure from the United Auto Workers to avoid Musk given Tesla's anti-union practices.

'We made it clear to the administration about where things were,' said a former UAW official.

'We didn't have to make an ultimatum. They understood.'

Tesla and Musk were outraged by Biden showing the company the cold shoulder but Democrats as a whole seemed to be drawing Musk's ire as the Biden presidency went on.

Despite some efforts by those close to Biden, Musk started to notice that the White House was coming after him, the the Federal Trade Commission and US Justice Department investigating X and Tesla.

All of these issues have snowballed into an avalanche which has led Musk to make friends with Capitol Hill's Republicans, despite Tesla benefitting from Biden's Inflation Reduction Act and Musk's personal wealth growing during the Biden presidency.

Imagine what investments could be made in productive enterprises and technology if the government weren't forcibly diverting resources to its green nude eel

Janet Yellen Calls For $78,000,000,000,000 To Tackle Climate Change

“At home, we are implementing the Inflation Reduction Act, the most significant climate legislation in our nation’s history,” Yellen said during the speech. “It is driving hundreds of billions of dollars of investments in the clean energy technologies and industries that will propel us toward our climate goals and fuel our economic growth.”

It’s Soviet five-year planning all the way down, and I do mean down.

From shutting down existing power plants and forcing utilities to build windmills, to requirements that manufacturers design and build new factories to produce electric cars and trucks that don’t work and that no one wants, the inventory of wasted money is endless. here’s just one small example:

Kamala Harris Touted a $5B Electric School Bus Program. Three Years Later, It's Produced Just 60 Buses.

California superintendent says electric buses would take district back to 'Pony Express days'

One of Kamala Harris's highest profile responsibilities as vice president has been spearheading the federal government's billion-dollar efforts to deploy thousands of electric buses across hundreds of school districts nationwide. But years into the program, only a small fraction of those projects have been completed while dozens of school districts have withdrawn from the program altogether.

As part of the first tranche of Clean School Bus program funding two years ago, Harris and EPA administrator Michael Regan unleashed nearly $1 billion in federal rebates for 389 school districts across all 50 states to help deliver a total 2,463 electric school buses. According to federal data reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon, just 27 of those districts have proven to the EPA that their buses were delivered and that their diesel-fueled buses being replaced have been discarded.

Collectively, those districts have deployed a total of 60 battery-electric or low-emissions propane-fueled school buses. And 55 additional districts have pulled out of the program, according to other federal data shared with the Free Beacon, citing a variety of technological and infrastructure concerns. In other words: More school districts have withdrawn from the program than proven that they have completed it.

"EPA anticipates that transitioning to new technology school buses will take time, which is why the project period is two years with an option to extend where needed and justified," said EPA spokeswoman Shayla Powell.

Powell didn't deny that 60 school buses have been deployed as part of the program, but she explained that districts still have three months until the EPA's deadline to either file close-out documentation showing they have obtained the buses and scrapped old buses, or file for an extension. The wide time frame is designed to give districts time to test the new buses out and integrate them into their fleet. Powell didn't say how many total buses may have been deployed in districts that have yet to file close-out materials.

The slow progression of the Clean School Bus program is a blow to the Biden-Harris administration as it seeks to quickly get billions of dollars in green energy and climate funding—earmarked in President Joe Biden's signature 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and 2022 Inflation Reduction Act—out the door. It's also a black eye for Harris, who has, in many ways, taken credit for the program, which she characterized earlier this year as an "investment in our children, their health, and their education."

The Clean School Bus program was created nearly three years ago as a provision of the 2021 infrastructure bill, which put aside $5 billion for the EPA to distribute in the form of rebates and grants over the course of five years. Since Harris's initial announcement, the agency has unveiled a $1 billion tranche of grants for 280 school districts and a second tranche of rebates, worth $900 million, for another 530 districts. None of those districts have deployed any buses under the program.

"This only makes economic sense if the bus is paid for with a grant like we received," Jeff Dicks, the superintendent of the Newell-Fonda and Albert City-Truesdale school systems in northern Iowa, told the Free Beacon. "The cost is so prohibitive that the cost savings are not worth it."

Dicks's school district is among the districts that have received funds under the Clean School Bus project—Albert City-Truesdale was awarded $395,000 as part of the October 2022 tranche of rebates. That money was used to fund a single new electric bus and a corresponding charging station. The district will be able to save money on fuel, but only because the bus was acquired free of charge, Dicks said.

Based on the EPA's funding calculus, the average new school bus under the Clean School Bus program costs upwards of $370,000, more than three times the cost of a traditional diesel bus. That implies the cost to replace the entire U.S. fleet of 547,000 yellow school buses with electric alternatives would exceed $202 billion.

"Ultimately, what sealed it for us was just the performance concerns," Tom O'Malley, the superintendent of Modoc Joint Unified School District located in northern California, said in an interview.

Modoc School District withdrew from the Clean School Bus program in March 2023, five months after it had been selected to receive $2.4 million for six electric buses.

O'Malley said the EPA's funding came short by about $50,000 per vehicle, meaning the buses were more expensive than projected and would have cost his district hundreds of thousands of dollars, even though the program was intended to provide free buses. But he emphasized the performance concerns were an even bigger hurdle, pointing particularly to how electric buses fare in rural and cold weather conditions.

"We get super cold in the winter—we get down below zero in the winter and it's cold here about nine months out of the year," he continued. "Basically, we're being told that you can't run the heaters, which means you can't defrost your windows because they take too much battery power. So, we were told they would get 200 miles on a charge, but the people in the field were telling us 70 with a loaded bus. That just doesn't work."

The superintendent of Fall River Joint Unified School District, which is also located in California, about 90 miles west of Modoc School District, echoed O'Malley's concerns. Fall River didn't receive any EPA funding for electric buses.

"We don't want to put kids on a bus that's not guaranteed to be able to get there, especially here in the rural areas," Fall River superintendent Morgan Nugent told the Free Beacon, adding that relying on electric buses would take his district back to the "Pony Express days." "Those who are making the policies need to get out to actually see how this is going to impact the rest of the country."

And Nicole Henson, the superintendent of Wayne City School District in southern Illinois, which declined rebates worth $1.2 million for three new buses, said in an email that her district withdrew from the program over mileage concerns.

Energy experts and industry groups have long warned that pushing forward with electric buses, and electric heavy-duty vehicles broadly, too quickly would be met with a series of roadblocks. In addition to electric vehicles having a lower range than traditional vehicles, charging infrastructure for heavy-duty vehicles requires substantial electric grid upgrades and increased power generation.

Democrats and their flying media monkeys reveal their campaign tactic against J.D. Vance, and it's weird.

So, I saw the headline below and decided to click on it — something I resisted doing, because who cares what Schumer thinks about anything, let alone how Trump should run his campaign — just to see if the senator from NY would reveal his party’s strategy for attacking Vance. Sure enough, he did. We’ll leave the media’s erasing Kampalawalla’s past and completely rewriting her histpry for another post; until then, here’s Chuck on Vance:

Schumer calls on Trump to pick new running mate, claims Vance is 'best thing he's ever done for Democrats'

"It’s an incredibly bad choice," Schumer said. "I think Donald Trump, I know him, and he's probably sitting and watching the TV, and every day, Vance, it comes out Vance has done something more extreme, more weird, more erratic. Vance seems to be more erratic and more extreme than President Trump."

Aha! Weird it is, and I remembered seeing an increasing number of references to that term recently, so I looked around, and found it laid out and then demonstrated.

POLITICO: JD Vance Has ‘Weird Views on Gender’

Yesterday, over at Hot Air, David Strom weighed in on just one small sample of this collusion between the media and its employers:

The gaslighting is strong in this campaign.

I have written quite a bit about this over the past week or so, and surely I will again. But I want to talk about a subset of the lies being told and how they get injected into the public discussion, in this case, with more subtlety than the outright lies being told by the mainstream media and the left.

I want to look at two examples of how the Establishment created stories out of thin air to undermine the Trump campaign. The first was pushed by the Associated Press in a wholly invented "fact check," and the second given life by FBI Director Christopher Wray.

The AP "fact check" in question was amazing.

Out of the blue they posted a "fact check" about an event that never happened, was not in the public consciousness, and that was entirely based on some planted and ignored Facebook post by some obscure account. Obviously somebody posted a claim, informed the Associated Press, and they ran with a "fact check" on a claim that literally nobody ever heard.

They injected a false story into the public sphere, and then Kamala Harris fan accounts started pushing the story nobody had ever heard of.

Now the Left is using this excuse--"it's in the media..."--to create a meme that is based on literally nothing. Totally invented, pushed by the Associate Press briefly (they took down the "fact check" almost immediately, apologizing but creating an excuse surely intentionally. It is now everywhere on the left.

You will surely see this repeated endlessly, often but not always with the "there is no proof it happened, but...", to leave an impression of "where there is smoke, there is fire." It was intentional, but few people are paying close attention to the technique, so it just floats into the public consciousness.

Sleazy as all get out, and what makes it interesting is not that a rumor was started--political campaigns have done this forever--but that the Associated Press collaborated with it.

There’s much more on this incident smeared all across the web, exactly as planned:

July 28, 2024:

San Fran Health Dept Wants You Wearing Masks in 'Crowded Spaces' Again

Charlie Brown football. Does anyone else remember when it was racist to even suspect that the WuHu Flu originated in the Chinese laboratory that was working to weaponize it? When the COVID shot was going to stop the disease in its tracks and prevent infection of the injectionee? When “two weeks to slow the spread” was used to shut down the world for months and imprison people in their homes (and in quarantine punishment pens in Australia and China)? When closing schools for a year would have no adverse effect on children because “kids are resilient”?

Here’s a sample of the bullshit that our health “authorities” were peddling back then, nostrums that they knew were useless, but promulgated anyway in order to cow the masses and keep them docile and submissive:

August 4, 2020:

Face shields, eye goggles advised to prevent COVID-19 spread

If you’ve seen a health care provider recently, you’ve probably noticed them wearing a face shield or eye goggles in addition to a mask.

Do face or eye shields help reduce the spread of COVID-19 virus more than masks alone?

Absolutely, according to the top medical experts on the White House coronavirus task force, Anthony Fauci, MD, and Deborah Birx, MD.

Dr. Fauci: If you have an eye or face shield, use it

On July 29, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and leading expert on COVID-19 told ABC News that if you really want the best protection from the virus, all mucosal surfaces of the face should be shielded — that includes the surface of the eyes as well as the nose and mouth.

Dr. Fauci noted that though eye and face shields aren’t universally recommended at this time, “if you really want to be complete, you should probably use it if you can.”

Dr. Birx: Masks and face shields protect in different ways

The following day, on “Fox & Friends,” Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House coronavirus response coordinator, also recommended the use of face shields, explaining that masks and face or eye shields protect against the spread of COVID-19 in different ways.

She pointed out that masks are worn primarily to protect others, not the person wearing the mask. The mask reduces the spray of respiratory droplets from the mouth of a person who may not have symptoms of COVID-19 but is carrying the virus and can spread it among others.

On the other hand, eye goggles and face shields provide a physical barrier to protect the wearer from contracting the virus from others and the environment.

Face masks provide a second benefit as well, according to Dr. Birx: They may reduce how frequently a person touches their eyes and nose throughout the day, which also might help reduce the spread of the virus.

Use multiple defenses against COVID-19

While goggles and eye or face shields provide an added measure of protection against the spread of COVID-19, it’s important to diligently use multiple protective measures to stay as safe as possible.

These include frequent hand washing, frequent disinfection of surfaces (especially in the kitchen, bathrooms and other high-traffic areas in the home), wearing a clean mask in public, and following social distancing recommendations. [All of which were known to be useless]

chump

I promise not to post (much) on the Olympics; I haven't watched them since neighbor and friend Sandy Hamill's little sister Dodo won the skating medal in 1976, but, really?

“Why, it was nothing but an uncanny coincidence!”

The Taos Tatler has weighed in from his snowy retreat in the Sangre de Cristo mountains on the Olympic organization’s latest assault on decency and respect (spoiler alert: he was not amused), and in fact, I lifted the illustration for this post from him, but what really set my teeth on edge was this protestation of innocense from the men who put on this mockery:

Thomas Jolly, the artistic director of the opening ceremony, afterward drew attention away from "The Last Supper" references, saying that hadn’t been his intention.

"Our idea was inclusion," Jolly said during an International Olympic Committee media briefing. "Naturally, when we want to include everyone and not exclude anyone, questions are raised.

"Our subject was not to be subversive. We never wanted to be subversive. We wanted to talk about diversity. Diversity means being together," he added. "We wanted to include everyone, as simple as that. In France, we have freedom of creation, artistic freedom. We are lucky in France to live in a free country."

That’s absolute bullshit, of course, but his fellow heretic gives the game away:

Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet also weighed in.

"We imagined a ceremony to show our values and our principles, so we gave a very committed message," he said. "The idea was to really trigger a reflection. We wanted to have a message as strong as possible.

"Having said that – it is a French ceremony for the French games – so we trusted our artistic director," Estanguet said. "We have freedom of expression in France, and we wanted to protect it."

“We wanted to trigger a ‘reflection’ to send “a message [fuck you, Christians] as strong as possible”. “We wanted to protect our freedom of expression”.

As has been pointed out by numerous commentators, these brave Olympians did not dare “trigger a reflection” or exercise their right of free speech by presenting Mohammed in drag, say, or stripping the burka off a Moslem virgin and having a naked creature painted blue simulate sex with the girl. No need to wonder why; they’d have triggered someting alright, but it wouldn’t have been something as harmless as a reflection.

She's half-right: drop the "radical" from Islamic terrorism — there's no need for redundancy

Harris Urges End to Terms 'Radical Islamic Terrorism,' 'Illegal Alien'

'Words have meaning,' Harris told crowd at Islamic Center of Southern California

Vice President Kamala Harris said the public should no longer use the terms "radical Islamic terrorism" and "illegal alien" during a speech she gave at a Los Angeles mosque in July 2016.

"We must have the courage* to object when they use that term, ‘radical Islamic terrorism,’ which ignores how Muslims have overwhelmingly been the greatest victims of terror," she told the crowd at the Islamic Center of Southern California. "We must also have the courage* to reject the term ‘illegal alien.’"

*Is “Courage” really required to reject these terms? Not on any campus or liberal enclave I’m aware of or, for that matter, anywhere in America; this isn’t Tehran or Caracas, after all.

Muslims are terrorists and, as Kampallawalla Ding Dong pointed out, they have, and continue to slaughter their fellow devotees by the hundreds of thousands throughout Africa and the Middle East. Nothing “radical” about these people, they’re just following the dictates of their hero.

As for illegal aliens (a term incorporated in federal law), the millions of newcomers the Biden administration has ushered into our country, are economic refugees, a category of invaders explicitly denied refugee status by that same federal law. We provisionally allow entry to refugees who claim a fear of political persecution, not a desire to go on welfare, and an alien who falsely claims such a fear in order to gain entry is committing an illegal act.

8 U.S. Code § 1325 - Improper entry by alien

Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers, or (2) eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers, or (3) attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact, shall, for the first commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than 6 months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both.

Nothing wrong with tasty morsels of raw horse meat, especially in an emergency, or when in France, and offered a tofu burger

Athletes served raw meat as Olympic village rations food

Team GB are taking packed lunches to their hotels and flying in a chef as Paris 2024 runs low on high-protein chicken and eggs

The organisers of the Paris 2024 Olympics may have boasted that athletes would be catered for by Michelin chefs, but Team GB have been forced to fly out their own cook after shortages led to the rationing of high-protein items and service of uncooked meat.

Andy Anson, the British Olympic Association’s chief executive, revealed the shortcomings, telling The Times that the food in the village “is not adequate” and “a dramatic” improvement is needed. British athletes have even taken to bringing back to the village packed lunches for their evening meal. In one of the gastronomic capitals of the world, catering organisers admitted to some supply issues and have promised to rectify the situation.

“There are not enough of certain foods: eggs, chicken, certain carbohydrates, and then there is the quality of the food, with raw meat being served to athletes,” Anson said. “They have got to improve it over the next couple of days dramatically.

Sodexo Live, the company in charge of catering, said it has increased the daily order of several of the most popular items after complaints that athletes were unable to eat their choice of food, particularly high-protein eggs and chicken.

So, how’d this come to pass? Here’s a hint:

The International Olympic Committee had mandated the food must be local, primarily plant-based, and focused on minimal waste.

Nearly two-thirds of the 500 dishes on offer will be vegetarian, including meat-free options like beefless bourguignon and 'not-dogs', a meatless option featuring onions and pickled cabbage with honey-mustard sauce.

Leftovers will be redistributed to those in need, and used coffee grinds will be repurposed for fertilisation.

The sustainable menu aims to meet the diverse cultural, religious and nutritional needs of athletes while showcasing French gastronomy.

All is going according to plan:

Paris 2024 Olympics to be ‘most sustainable in history’ – with plant-based push to slash the carbon footprint of the games

‘Food vision’

According to Paris 2024 organisers, the event’s food vision ‘prioritises quality, taste and experience, and purity of products’.

It was created in collaboration with a number of experts, following ‘extensive consultations’ with representative groups across France and the entire agri-food sector.

Over an 18-month period, some 120 organisations – ranging from agriculture and catering to NGOs and nutritionists, as well as Paris 2024 partners – discussed the plans.

In addition, organisers also ‘conducted 40 individual interviews and 10 group workshops on integrating sustainability at every stage, from food and drink supply and preparation to surplus management’.

Furthermore, 200 athletes (80 per cent of them foreign) were also surveyed to ‘explore their eating habits, cultural needs and tastes’.

According to organisers: “The vast majority of the athletes (98 per cent) are ‘concerned’ or ‘very concerned’ by the social and environmental impacts of their diet.”

“Social aspects of their diet”? Does that mean not eating too many beans?

But wait, there’s more!

Marie Sallois, the IOC’s Director for Sustainability, said: “France certainly knows how to welcome the world to its table.

“The Games organisers are laser focused on showcasing French food that is sourced, produced and consumed in a responsible way.

“We hope that this approach will go beyond helping reduce the Games’ footprint, raising the bar for sustainable catering at sports events and beyond.”

Thierry Marx hopes Paris 2024 can ‘provide a more responsible food model for other major sporting and cultural events’.

He said: “The Games are enabling us to bring together the entire food ecosystem around a vision for catering that is sustainable from an environmental and social point of view.

“It is a unique opportunity to support the food transition in a positive way by proving that what is good for our health and the planet is also good to eat!

“With more plants on our plates, as well as more local and seasonal products and greater responsibility throughout the entire supply chain, Paris 2024 isn’t just setting out specifications – it’s presenting several opportunities for us all to seize.'”

Mission accomplished:

“For France, it’s an opportunity to showcase our [lack of] expertise at every step of the chain – production, logistics, preparation, service and waste management.”

A few days ago, The Ladies of Perpetual Grievance staged a massive phone-in to praise the elevation of the DIE Indian from useless idiot to useless idiot presidential candidate. Some actress summed up the feelings of all of them:
